What blood tests are needed before starting peptides?

FAQ·Consults & Care Plans

Blood work is recommended rather than required to book the consult, but it is what turns a conversation into a clinical decision. The minimum panel our clinicians work from covers IGF-1 for growth signalling, HbA1c and fasting insulin for glucose and insulin metabolism, ALT and GGT for liver function, creatinine and eGFR for kidney function, and a full blood count. PSA is included for men aged 40 and over.

The approximate cost to the patient for that panel is R1,850, billed separately from the consultation. Additional tests may be added after clinical review, depending on your history and what the doctor is looking for.

The reason for testing first is straightforward: peptides are only as safe as the picture you start from. Bloods can reveal a reason not to proceed, or a simpler problem worth treating instead.
