Engineering a New Standard for Human Performance

22 February 2026 · WellNest Cape Town
Engineering a New Standard for Human Performance

Among those who have passed through his orbit are world-class athletes like Oscar De La Hoya and NFL’s Jamal Lewis, alongside icons such as Eva Longoria and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. Despite the diversity of their professions, Uria’s clients share a common profile: they operate under sustained, exceptional pressure with uncompromising expectations. They do not seek quick fixes. They seek structured systems designed to support long-term performance in the world’s most demanding environments.

From Military Discipline to Movement Science

Born and raised in South Africa, Uria’s foundations were forged in sport science and the South African Air Force. It was here he began obsessing over a singular question: Why do some people function effectively under prolonged pressure while others gradually deteriorate?

"It is rarely a lack of talent," Uria says. "More often, it is a lack of coherent systems."

After decades in the United States refining evidence-informed approaches to movement and metabolic conditioning, Uria noticed a recurring contradiction in the boutique fitness sector: Outward success was often accompanied by fragile underlying health."People were optimizing their companies, their portfolios, and their public profiles," he notes. "But the one asset everything depends on—health—was often left unmanaged."

WELLNEST: A Physician-Led Life Science Centre

Together with co-founder Thomas Pays, Uria developed WELLNEST. It is neither a gym nor a traditional medical practice; it is a research and development life science centre focused on advancing medically supervised approaches to:

  • Longevity & Resilience

  • Sustained Human Performance

  • Clinical Oversight & Biological Insight

The Invitation-Only Model

WELLNEST operates on a strict invitation-only basis. Each member is supported by a dedicated medical team—physicians, nursing support, and specialist practitioners—who oversee every facet of care within a holistic framework.

Phase I: The Intensive Onboarding (6 Months)

The journey begins with a deep diagnostic dive into the member’s biological landscape:

  • Metabolic & Cardiovascular Screening

  • Neurological & Musculoskeletal Evaluation

  • Detailed Medical History Aggregation

  • Functional Performance Testing

Phase II: The Performance Phase (Up to 2 Years)

Following onboarding, members transition into a long-term care strategy. Longitudinal biological data is securely monitored via a bespoke digital platform, allowing for real-time adjustments to clinical protocols.

Clinical Rigor Over Trends

Clinical leadership is shared between Dr. ProBart and Dr. Addinall, physician-scientists responsible for protocol development and ethical governance. Their mission is to distance WELLNEST from "trend-driven" or speculative optimization.

"Longevity is not about extremes," Uria explains. "It is about building durable foundations so that performance remains sustainable over decades, not just seasons."

A Strategic Asset

WELLNEST is designed for the individual who recognizes health as a strategic asset—approaching it with the same seriousness as wealth or legacy. In a world where most people react only once something fails, WELLNEST members choose to be proactive. Access remains limited by design, discretion remains central to the model, and expectations remain uncompromising.
