What it analyses

Why the same diet works differently for people

Some people feel well on more carbohydrates, others on more protein or fat. How your body handles food depends on your genes, changeable epigenetic processes and daily life. General advice is based on averages, so this panel adds information about you.

Your metabolic type

Four ways to fill your plate.

Several of your genes place you in one of four metabolic types, each with a suggested share of carbohydrate, protein and fat. Your doctor talks it through with you.

  • Balanced

No strong lean towards one macronutrient.

  • Carbohydrate

A slightly higher share of carbohydrates suits this profile.

  • Fat

More emphasis on good-quality fats suits this profile.

  • Protein

A lean towards a higher share of protein.

Your report

Genes and changeable markers at a glance

The report sets your results on traffic-light scales, scores your diet and lifestyle habits from a short questionnaire, and shows what each suggestion is based on.

  • GreenIn the favourable range. The report suggests how to keep it there.
  • YellowIn the middle band. Your doctor explains what it means for you.
  • RedStands out. Your doctor prioritises it in your plan.
  • A fictional example report from HealthBioCare, the laboratory that runs the analysis. Your own report follows the same layout.

It looks at 22 gene variants linked to food, appetite, weight, blood fats, vitamins, salt, skin and exercise, and four changeable epigenetic markers. Several genes together set your metabotype, one of four metabolic types. Your doctor goes through the report with you.

No. It looks at genes linked to vitamin D, folate and B vitamins, and one marker the report links to zinc and folate, not your actual levels. It does not replace your blood work.
